Developing Diwata

Recently, Ubuntu released its LTS distro. Mmm... I have no idea what Diwata is.

I'm not here to put Bayanihan down (and it's nice to be a Pinoy by the way...), I just want an honest answer and I'm hoping that the Bayanihan spirit is alive. I just want to know if it's still alive... Secondly, according to
http://futurist.se/gldt/
GNU/Linux Distribution Timeline 12.02, Bayanihan was forked from Red Hat. I want a good reason why Red Hat? What's the aim of Bayanihan? I heard it was for the government...

Speaking of government, I heard P-Noy dissolved some departments under DOST. Tell me more, how does that affect the development of Bayanihan?

Next, how about suggestions? I believe you are compiling BL from Kernel... some repositories from Debian... I have read that Diwata will be using Kernel 2.6.37/38, why not the stable Kernel 3.3.7? maybe I was looking for updates. And maybe some software like office suits? may JDK and GCC na din plus Mono? kahit wala ng games. =D tapos desktop na KDE or XFCE/LXDE para lightweight?

Sorry I was expecting a lot, peace tayo mga kabayan!
