Bayanihan Power Management

Postby alphatrion » Wed Jan 27, 2010 11:26 pm

Hey, good evening to all.
I'll have my first post as a query :D.
I'm just wondering if anyone is having a problem with regards to laptop power management.
In Ubuntu Hardy Heron, wireless internet browsing with an updated firefox consumes a lot of power (battery life from 30 mins to 5 mins).
I'm using powertop, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Powertop, to minimize the power consumption of applications running, prolonging the battery life from 5 mins to 20 mins.

Do I have to do this also in bayanihan? Or you already fixed this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Bayanihan 5 comes with KPowersave enabled. You can find it as a plug/battery icon located in the system tray. I do not know how it compares to powertop since I don't use it. With KPowersave I can tweak my system and even change the governor used by the kernel.
