I already have BL5 on my laptop (dual boot with windows xp).. wala po kasi kasamang installation cd for linux OS yung sun broadband wireless internet ko. Please provide me a step by step guide.

Thank you..

i believe this model is already supported but not automatically configured to connect.

Try the following to connect to the internet.

Plug in the USB dongle to any available USB port.

1. Click on Menu > Internet > KPPP (Internet Dial-Up Tool)
2. Click Configure.
3. In the Accounts tab, click on New...
4. Choose Manual Setup
5. In the Dial tab, enter a name for this connection (e.g. SunBroadbandWireless)
6. Click the Add button in the Phone number section and type *99#
7. In the Authentication list, select Script-based and uncheck the Store password box then click Ok.
8. Back in the main window, click on the Modems tab and then click New...
9. In the Device tab, enter a name for the USB broadband device (e.g. modemSunHuaweiE220)
10. In the Modem device list, select /dev/ttyUSB0
11. Click the Modem tab, and click on the Modem Commands button
12. In the Initialization string 2: box, type in AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","minternet",,0,0 then click OK.
13. Close the remaining open windows until you are left with the main KPPP window.
14. In the Connect to: list, select the Sun Broadband Wireless account name you configured in step 5 above.
15. In the Use modem: list, select the modem device name you configured in step 9 above.
16. Click the Connect button.

Let me know if this helps.

Kailangan mong irestart yung computer or kung komportable kang mag terminal gawin mo ito as root:
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/udev restart

Tignan mo kung nag-appear na yung file /dev/ttyUSB0 or /dev/ttyUSB1 or /dev/ttyUSB2.

Sun's mobile broadband seems to be still limited to the metropolitan capital . And its network tends to get congested with its numerous "unlimited" service offering.Smart and Globe's services should be quite comparable.

honestly I don think Sun can compare to Globe in rural areas. To congested in my opinion. Pag-asa nila i-upgrade ang infrastructure bagaman....
