It should be something like this:

Go to Menu > System > Synaptic Package Manager and fire up the latter.
Then click on "Reload" (to make sure you're up to dat re available packages)
Search for flashplayer.
Right click flashplayer when found and choose from the menu "Mark for installationl"
Click Apply and so on ..... That is all! The rest is a job for Synaptic.

BUT .... In the repo's I found no flashplayer. Instead I found "flashplugin" and that might be the same (?)

Also during "Reload" I encountered a error indicating that something isn't all right with repo's or server:

Hope someone will correct this asap. Errors do scare people! :lol:

Nagh, tried what you obviously wanted to do and installed that "flash" plugin found in the repo's. Doesn't work ..
Then went to a "flash filled" website and Firefox attempted to install the needed plugin. Doesn't work .....
Then went for manual install found here and ended up in the nearly forgotten dependency hell! :o
Seems it has to do with java (or lack of java). :?:
This needs improvement :twisted:

EDIT:
Meanwhile Java successful installed (manual) but flashplayer still complains about missing packages.
This not a "newbe friendly" option to install flashplayer ..... :|
Hard to imagine this is not in the repo's or a install script isn't provided. Its a plain must have!

But then again .... maybe the developers have some arrows on their bow :ugeek: :mrgreen:

Download the Adobe Flash Player here:

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/thankyou/?installer=Flash_Player_10_for_Linux_%28.tar.gz%29

Then double-click on the downloaded file and copy the libflashplayer.so file to ~/.mozilla/plugins folder.

Don't know if it has been mentioned, but a very easy , completely save way to accomplish this would be through a live version of linux on a 'thumb drive' USB flash device, this would even prevent a partition of the hard drive. The nice thing about this is , you can take it wherever you go.

040GB -> C: Windows XP
020GB -> E: Windows 7
018GB -> Unallocated space
040GB -> F: Data
180GB -> G: Data

Hahahaha!

Salamat!
